thambos asked: That is so upsetting about Blake's "friends." People can be such asshats. I hope you don't mind me asking, but how did you find out/get warrants? A few months ago the same thing happened to my family, where a cousin came out of nowhere and "stumbled on" some of our stolen things being "sold on the side of the road" but I don't know if we have proof per se. It's just so damn infuriating that people we know could take shit that has memories and meaning or is worth a lot, and get away with it.
well, they’ve broken into both of our houses on two separate incidents (one house is literally maybe a hundred yards away, and was broken into about a week and a half after the first time). both times we made a list of everything that was taken and they gave it to the sheriff.
naturally, i assumed nothing would ever turn up, because usually nothing ever DOES turn up after it’s been stolen, it’s just lost forever. apparently they pawned everything the day they stole it (although i’m not sure why it took the pawn shop this long to find and/or notify us that they had our shit). anyway, the pawnshop found the flat screen they’d stolen, and had it in their records under their last name. b u s t e d.
i’d always kind of had a hunch that it might have been them, as they’re always strapped for cash, have stolen from the guy’s mom’s house before, and have a habit of breaking into abandoned buildings to strip them of their copper wire. so they’re not exactly above breaking and entering into someone’s house that they care about, if they sincerely believe they won’t get caught.
